About this treatment

Polish away surface buildup without a long recovery.

Diamond-tip microdermabrasion gently removes the outer layer of dead skin cells while vacuum action lifts debris from the skin's surface. It can help unclog pores and improve dullness, uneven texture, fine lines and the appearance of some acne scarring, either on its own or as part of a broader skin plan.

A diamond-tipped instrument passes over the skin to lift dead surface cells, while vacuum action removes debris. This controlled exfoliation can leave the skin feeling smoother and looking brighter.

The treatment may be considered for dullness, congestion, enlarged pores, fine lines, uneven texture, visible sun damage and selected acne-related texture. It can stand alone or prepare the skin for a broader home and clinic plan.

A controlled surface treatment.

Microdermabrasion works at the outermost surface and does not use a chemical solution, needle or laser. Pressure, passes and suction are adjusted for the area and how reactive the skin is on the day of treatment.

The clinic reviews retinoids, recent peels or laser work, active irritation and sun exposure before exfoliating. A simple routine and daily sun protection help protect the freshly treated surface afterward.

A surface treatment with practical aftercare.

Microdermabrasion mechanically exfoliates the outer surface of the skin. It is useful to distinguish a wish for smoother-feeling skin from deeper scars or more pronounced changes that may need a different assessment. Tell us if your skin has been irritated by recent products or treatments.

Although recovery is generally lighter than with resurfacing, temporary redness or sensitivity can still matter to your plans. Ask about moisturising, sun protection and when to resume exfoliating products. A gentle-sounding treatment still needs to fit your skin.

Common questions

How does microdermabrasion work?

The clinic uses diamond-tip exfoliation with suction to remove superficial dead skin cells and debris. It is a surface treatment, so its role differs from deeper resurfacing or an injection. At your consultation, describe whether roughness, dullness or congestion is the concern and ask what degree of change this relatively superficial approach can realistically offer your skin.

Which concerns can it address?

Microdermabrasion may improve the appearance of surface dullness and rough texture in suitable skin. It should not be expected to erase deep scars or provide the same change as more intensive resurfacing. Ask which part of your concern it is intended to address and whether another approach would be more relevant before committing to a course based on a broad treatment list.

Is there much recovery?

Daily activities are often minimally interrupted, but temporary redness, sensitivity or mild swelling can occur. Discuss work, exercise and social plans when booking so you know what is reasonable for your skin. Little downtime does not mean no aftercare; ask which products and activities to avoid while the surface settles and when to call about a reaction.

What should I do afterward?

Use the gentle skincare and sun protection recommended for your treatment, and ask when to restart exfoliants or other active ingredients. More exfoliation is not a way to improve the immediate result. If your skin becomes increasingly uncomfortable or reacts to a product, contact the clinic for advice instead of layering additional products over an irritated surface.

Can microdermabrasion be combined with other skin treatments?

It can be considered within a broader skin plan, but timing must account for other exfoliating products and procedures. Bring dates of recent treatments and describe any upcoming appointments elsewhere. Ask which step should come first and why; combining services should serve a specific concern rather than simply adding more treatments to the same visit.

Who is not ready for microdermabrasion today?

Sunburn, active irritation, infection or incomplete recovery from another procedure may mean postponing treatment. Mention current and recent medicines, especially acne treatment, along with cold sores or a tendency to scar. The consultation should establish whether the skin is ready today and explain any preparation or delay, rather than treating an existing booking as proof that it is suitable.

Recommendations are informational. A clinical consultation is required to confirm suitability, risks and expected results.
